Improvisation for organ

This is one movement piece with the three section internal structure. The first section has a homophonic texture, the second has a fugata form and the third with inverted form against the first one. The piece was published by PWM in 1977 together with Postludium.

I Introduction

The piece was composed on the occasion of blessing the new organ in St. Zygmunt church in Bielany in Warsaw. The dominant technique of this one movement composition is polyphony.

II Introduction

The piece was composed for the occasion of blessing of the new organ in the St. Ann church in Warsaw. The instrument was a gift from the Church of Austria on the 300th anniversary of Battle of Vienna. The piece was composed at the request of priest Zygmunt Malacki, rector of the church.

Sonata F# minor

The three movement piece has a modern style with a very rich harmonics and typical organ texture. A very precise setting of notes and rhythm corresponds with the classical style present in works of Brahms, Reger and Hindemith. At the same time the strong chromatisism of melody leads to connections with the late romantic style.

Toccata for Solo Organ (Toccata I)

It is a virtuoso composition in one movement with the two part internal structure, dedicated to Polish organist and composer Feliks RÄ…czkowski (1906-1989). It was published in 1974 by Agencja Autorska together with the Gothic Fantasy.

II Toccata

The piece was composed at the request of organist Prof. Feliks RÄ…czkowski with the intention for it to be a composition closing a recital. It was published with the Prelude for solo organ in 1982 as Diptychos.
