Concerto for Trombone and Wind Band
The piece was written for the the jubilee concert organised by PWSM in Warsaw on the 30th anniversary of composer’s educational and composer work. The first movement draws on sonata allegro with two theme groups. The exposition is followed by the virtuoso solo cadence and the ending.
The second movement is similar to A-B-A Â structured aria. The middle B part is in rhythmic and energetic contrast wit A parts. The third movement has a form of A-B-A-C-A-B rondo referring to Kurpie folk music, very individual, without citations however, just having the folk character.
The means of artistic expression are moderately modern with high demands for the artist. The first version of this piece was composed for trombone and symphony orchestra (1971).
