CiacconaDuration: 12'Instrumentation: vl archiComposed in: 1968
This is transcription of Ciaccona from the 2nd Partita D minor by J. S. Bach (BWV 1004) for violin and strings, written at the commission of Tadeusz Ochlewski, Head of Chamber Orchestra Con moto ma cantabile. Original Ciaccona was written by Bach for solo violin.
According to Tadeusz Ochlewski “transcription made by Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz is the closest to original concept because it does not loose anything from the colour of violin sound and maintains virtuoso character. It is, so to say, a multiplication of solo violin and its sound”.
