Sonata F# minor

The three movement piece has a modern style with a very rich harmonics and typical organ texture. A very precise setting of notes and rhythm corresponds with the classical style present in works of Brahms, Reger and Hindemith. At the same time the strong chromatisism of melody leads to connections with the late romantic style.

Sequence

The piece consists of three movements with dominant polyphonic style.

2 Preludes for Organ

The earliest organ compositions of the composer – 2 preludes – Andante espressivo and Non troppo lento. The original score manuscript of the preludium in Andante tempo has been misplaced. According to the composer it was published in one of the Feliks Raczkowski collections. From composer’s accounts

Prelude for Organ

This piece is based on Polish liturgical songs. It was published together with Toccata II (1975) by Agencja Autorska in Diptychos in 1982. Composition dedicated to the renowned organist Joachim Grubich.

Postlude for organ

One movement piece with two section internal structure. After the very short Adagio the piece unfolds into the main Allegro non troppo. The composition was published by PWM in 1977 together with Improvisation (1968).

II Introduction

The piece was composed for the occasion of blessing of the new organ in the St. Ann church in Warsaw. The instrument was a gift from the Church of Austria on the 300th anniversary of Battle of Vienna. The piece was composed at the request of priest Zygmunt Malacki, rector of the church.
