Suite from the ballet Legend of Warsaw – for symphony orchestra
This orchestra suite contains parts from the Legend of Warsaw ballet.
I Symphony
As opposed to the classic four-part subject symphony construction, I Symphony has three movements. The first part is preceded with the slow introduction Lento sostenuto, played on cor anglais. The second part of Allegro has a folk character of Kurpie region.
II Symphony
The symphony is composed of four movements performed together as parts I and II, and III and IV. The first movement – Lento molto – is an introduction with slow and mysterious character. Transcripted for symphony orchestra. This piece was also written in transcription for chamber orchestra.
IV Symphony – for chamber orchestra
Violin Concerto
The piece was composed for violin player Mrs. Wanda WiÅ‚komirska. The composition has a classical form and consists of three movements. The first – Allegro ma non troppo e molto maestoso – with virtuoso cadenza. The second – Lento molto – with A-B-A structure. The third –  Allegro appassionato – in rondo form.
